Members of the task force assisted by the BEST Program to reform the National Educators Academy of the Philippines (NEAP) presented to Sec. Leonor Magtolis Briones on 21  February 2019 their recommendations on how to make this attached DepEd agency become a full academy that caters to teachers’ professional learning and development (L&D) needs, and one that serves as a key pillar in upgrading the quality of basic education in the country.

The presentation—organized by the Program’s implementing partner, the National Research Center for Teacher Quality (RCTQ) in Pasig City—was attended by DepEd national and regional officials led by undersecretaries Atty. Nepomuceno Malaluan and Jesus Lorenzo Mateo, NEAP Director John Arnold Siena, RCTQ director Dr. Gina Gonong, Australian Embassy First Secretary Francesca Lawe-Davies, BEST Program Team Leader Dr. Alison Atwell and other members of the task force.
