Eighty (80) DepEd participants representing the 22 innovative education projects supported under the BEST Innovation Fund converged this week in Naga City for the BEST Innovations for Learning Conference to showcase the results of their respective projects which could be adopted, replicated and contextualized in other schools, divisions, and regions.

Dr. Susan Collano, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent of the Camarines Sur Division, and Dr. Renato A. Gavino of the Schools Division of Naga welcomed participants from Regions 5, 6, 7 and 8.

Conference participants presented their project results through mini-exhibits, and facilitated conversations where they discussed innovative features of their projects, results in terms of outputs and improvement in the learners performance and teacher’s teaching practices, and ways to sustain the gains of each project.

The Conference also tackled project implementation issues which could lead to review and enhancement of education policies at the DepEd regional and national levels.

Most of the projects, which aim to improve reading competencies of learners and enhance various senior high school strands, come from Region V (Bicol region) with a total of 14 division-level and school-level innovations. Region 6 (Western Visayas region) has six approved projects while the remaining two projects come from Region 7 (Central Visayas) and Region 8 (Eastern Visayas). All projects are set to be completed until March 2019.
