BEST Team Leader Dr. Alison Atwell gives away BEST thumb drives to teachers.

The Australian Embassy and the BEST Program joined some 6,000 teachers in celebrating the National Teachers Day and World Teachers Day on 5 October 2018 in Ormoc City.

BEST showcased  Program-supported resource materials for teachers including the Classroom Assessment Resource Book (CARB) and the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST) resource package through an exhibit at the Ormoc City Superdrome.

Thumb drives containing these resource materials  with BEST lanyards were distributed to teachers who dropped by the BEST booth.

The BEST Program team was led by Team Leader Dr. Alison Atwell and Deputy Team Leader Ms. Hazel Aniceto. The Australian Embassy was represented by Senior Program Officers Mr. Avelino Mejia, Jr. and Mr. Nino Rocamora.

“It is a privilege to share this celebration of all of the dedicated teachers who continue to be our enthusiastic partners in supporting the growth of accessible, inclusive and quality education for all Filipino learners. The World Teachers Day provides us with such a rich opportunity to reflect on the incredible motivation of teachers in the Philippines to nurture learners and to work tirelessly to improve their own practice,” said Dr. Atwell  who joined in the distribution of BEST thumb drives to teachers.
