BEST and the DepEd Bureau of Learning Resources (BLR) held a workshop on 2-4 October 2018 to validate and enhance system manuals and policy cover for their Learning Resources Management and Development System (LRMDS).

The activity was attended by regional and division learning resource supervisors, and representatives from BLR, Bureau of Learning and Development (BLD), ICT Service, and the National Educators Academy of the Philippines (NEAP).

The workshop supported BLR’s effort in redeveloping the existing LRMDS process, standards and guidelines that were initially developed during the Australia-supported Strengthening the Implementation of Basic Education in Selected Provinces in the Visayas (STRIVE) project.

The implementation of the DepEd Rationalization Plan and the current K to 12 curriculum reform made it imperative to revisit and revise the manuals.

The workshop became an opportunity to align the LRMD process with the proposed Quality Management System (QMS) which is a requirement for the ISO 9001:2015 Certification that the Department of Education plans to undertake.
